My name is Lesley Weston and I started Buns to Banquets in 1996 with my business partner Annemarie Shaw Roberts. We attended the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland with the inspirational Darina Allen and our business grew from strength to strength. In 2002 Annemarie left for pastures new in Spain and I had a very difficult decision to make! I was given lots of support and encouragement by my contacts, friends and previous clients and decided to continue running the business on my own.
Buns to Banquets is a company specialising in catering on a personal level. Every menu is planned individually for the client and their occasion.
I work with a group of people that I know and trust, ensuring a happy and relaxed occasion. My uniformed staff are always polite, discreet and attentive and are trained to the highest standards. Last year I was joined by Emma Taylor. She started her career working in various restaurants, then onto London to work in corporate and private dining rooms in the city. She has been a chef on both private and charter yachts based in the USA, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, catering for the world's most discerning customers. A caterer for about twenty years, she has brought huge experience in catering at both small private events and to large corporate & media events. In April 2006 I was lucky enough to work with chefs from The Ivy, J Sheekey's and Le Caprice.
Then in September 2006, I started to work alongside The Monsoon Restaurant in Billingshurst. This means I am now able to offer a full selection of authentic Indian food, cooked by professional Indian chef's. It has proved a very popular addition to the facilities I offer and I am enjoying this collaboration.
Later this year I will be in a position to offer a 'mobile bar service' which I shall be running with a colleague Simon Oliver (BTec diploma in Hotel Catering & Institutional Management). We will be able to offer an all inclusive service, providing the drinks that you want to provide, using a local brewery for real ale.
We can provide as little or as much as the client needs, including the names of people and services such as equipment hire, chocolate fountains by 'Yummy Scrummy Fountains', cakes, flowers, hog roast, wok & paella chefs, bar running, marquee hire, wine supply and wedding artist.
